Auto China 2012 also presents the HY-KERS system’ s evolution

Auto China 2012 is opening in Beijing, from tomorrow Friday, the 27th of April until Wednesday, the 2nd of May: the biennal motor show is at the 22nd edition. The novelties, at the first edition of the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, were just 216, motorbikes included. Today we count about 1.125 whose 120 are prémière, produced by foreign and Chinese brand for the million of spectators who fill up the exhibition spaces spread over 230.000 m².

Among the main novelties we must mention the debut of the F12 berlinetta, and what is more striking is the evolution of the HY-KERS system which will be used soon for a new hybrid red. The Cavallino technical staff explain that the new architecture will be set in a rear-central position headed to a decrease of 40% in consumption and emissions. The hybrid component has been built according to the experiences gathered from the competitions. It will be matched with the 12 cylinders engine and with a F1 dual clutch gearbox. Furthermore, it is composed by two electric motors: one is set in the gear and the other is dedicated to the feeding of the auxiliary systems and set in the heat motor, while the energy is supplied by the lithium batteries. To limit the waste of fuel is not the only objective of Maranello’ s House, they aim to raise the power: about 1kW for each kilo of weight added thanks to the hybrid components. In the braking phase, the electric motor acts like a generator, exploiting the kinetic energy of the negative torque in order to charge the batteries. The management of this crucial point has been committed to an electronic junction box coming from the F1.
